For more support and protection for the ACL I would suggest the DonJoy Deluxe Hinged Knee Brace, the hinges will provide better stability after an ACL surgery. See the link below:

No, the sleeve should not be put in the washer or dryer. This will compromise the material. Unfortunately, you cannot shrink the brace back to its original size if it has stretched out.

Take the measurement of your thigh and calf 6" above and below your kneecap using a flexible type tape measure. Use the diameter you measure here to choose your size.
