How do I know if a need the standard or small brace length

It is based on which knee brace you have. If you have standard length knee brace from DonJoy then the standard knee brace cover will be fine. If you happen to have a short or ski version then order short knee brace cover.

Are the dimensions on the size chart measured with or without the brace on?

If you have an off the shelf brace order the same size cover as the brace. If you are unable to determine the size of your brace then take the circumference of your thigh 6" above the center of your kneecap, without the brace on.

the DonJoy Sports Brace Cover can indeed be used for a Defiance Custom Knee Brace. Simply shoot us an email with your brace serial # and we can determine the correct size. Email service@betterbraces.com.

It is on the inside of the frame, underneath the #4 strap where it is permanently attached on one side. If you push the strap away from the frame, you will see it on a label affixed to the frame.

My daughter's sports league requires that braces be covered by "1/4 inch closed cell foam." Does your cover have such foam? If not, any suggestions?

Our sports over is 4mm so if you need it as 1/4" you can order it as a special and double up the padding. Simply call Customer Care at 800-336-6569 and give tell them that you need to place your order as a special with double padding.

I play soccer, a sport which requires a wide range of motion. Does the DonJoy Sports Brace cover restrict the motion of the leg when worn.

Is this cover water proof? Im a lifeguard and would like to cover my brace so the Chlorine doesn't rust my joints.. Or would ya'll have another cover that is more appropriate for my situtation?

The cover is not water proof, but water resistant. The brace can be worn in the water, however we recommend that after you wear it that you rinse it under tap water after each use to remove any remnant chlorine or salt.

My daughter plays <a href="https://www.donjoystore.com/'baseball-and-softball'">softball</a>. We need to protect her brace when she slides. Will this pad hold up to sliding? Also she is a pitcher so it can not restrict her movement. Thank you

Yes the defiance Brace covers is sturdy, with some padding around the hinges and frame. It's a sleeve that slides over brace, very comfortable.
