The DonJoy Velocity Ankle Brace is built for athletes and active adults who need maximum ankle support during sports, training, and recovery. A hinged semi-rigid shell surrounds the ankle to help control inversion, eversion, and rotational movement while still allowing natural up-and-down flexion. Heat moldable panels contour closely to the ankle for a more personalized fit, while the R3 ratchet closure and compression wrap create secure lower leg stabilization without excess bulk. Rigid uprights add impact protection, and the lightweight low-profile design fits comfortably inside cleats and athletic shoes during high-demand activity.

Brace Application Guide
APPLICATION INFORMATION
- Unfasten and loosen all straps. Place ankle in the brace and position at 90º.
- Wrap and secure calf liner.
- Insert calf ratchet strap end through opening on the opposite calf ratchet strap. Pull, wrap, and lock both calf ratchet straps snugly into place without impairing circulation.
- Align tongue with the center of the forefoot. (Moderate Support and Extra Support versions only) Pull and wrap ankle strap(s) snugly into place without impairing circulation.
- The lace guide on the tongue may be adjusted and the Achilles pad may be trimmed to fit individual variations in leg, ankle joint, and foot shape.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEAT MOLDABLE FOOT PLATE
- Remove inner liner and outer shell (Extra Support version) or ankle strap (Moderate Support version).
- Apply heat evenly to the area of interest using a heat gun. Do not attempt to heat mold any component other than the foot plate. Do not use an oven, boiling water, or any heat source other than a heat gun. Refer to heat gun manufacturer’s instructions for use for additional warnings and precautions. Do not heat foot plate to more than 300°F as melting may occur. If heated, the rivets will readily burn bare skin.
- Manually form desired changes with gloved hands prior to cooling. Do not attempt to form components against bare skin.
- Reheat and continue forming as necessary.
- The foot plate will retain heat after heat source is removed. Allow sufficient cooling time prior to applying device.

To clean liners, hand wash in cold water using mild soap. Air dry.
Note: If not rinsed thoroughly, residual soap may cause irritation and deteriorate material.
