Hi Marie,
The sock is a cotton/polyester/lycra blend. It will wick better than a 100% cotton sock.

I have a torn ligament and have been wearing the boot for 4 weeks. The dr. wants me to get a orthodic but I'm comfortable in the boot. Will it harm me to wear the boot for several months?

Wearing the boot for too many month can lead to stiffness in the foot, as well as weakening of them lower leg and foot muscles for inactivity. I would suggest disscussing your concerns with the doctor and see if he can help you develop a new game plan.

What is the replacement sock made from? The sock that came with my aircast does not breath or wick moisture so my foot is hot and sweaty! :)

I do not suggest that you trim the sock, it will most likley ruin it. It can be folded down if to long

Yes, you can wash the Aircast Sock Liner. Use a mild detergent, and either hand wash in cool water, or wash on the delicate cycle, then air dry.
