The hinge are digs into my thigh, but otherwise the brace fits. Can I bend the end of the hinge without breaking it?
Question by: Sandy Kerman on Jan 20, 2011, 10:14 PM
If the uprights are digging in at your thigh and fitting correctly everywhere else, you can take the upright and pull it slightly out at that thigh portion to see if that relieves some of the pressure of the upright. If that does not work, the brace maybe too small and you may need to look at going up to the next size.

How do you wash this brace? Can you remove the hinges?
Is this brace good for 1 month post ACL surgery? I pretty much believe that I need the most comfortable knee brace with hinges.
Question by: Sammy on Feb 28, 2012, 9:10 PM
Handwash with mild detergent and air dry. This product is recommended for patella issues not for an ACL injury. For that I would go to the Knee Ligament section, such as the Armor, Fullforce, 4titude, or Legend.

Sometimes my knee dislocates when i run and the pain is excruciating. I'm planning to buy a knee brace but i have some questions. Does the knee brace prevents 100% knee cap dislocation? My right knee cap is the knee that always dislocates, but my left knee cap dislocated only once, so should i get it for both knees or just the right? I run a lot and i play soccer. Also which one is better for my situation DonJoy Lateral J Patella Knee Brace or DonJoy Performer Hinged Patella Knee Brace?
Question by: Cristian on May 30, 2013, 2:53 PM
Hello Cristian,
Please consult your Physician regarding your injury, they may assist you better. In the meantime I suggest wearing the Tru-Pull Lite during activity. We also has the Tru-Pull Advanced for additional support.
My 12 year old daughter is fighting osgood and tendinitis. She is a high level ODP hopeful. Is this a good brace to support her knee and allow her to play.
Question by: George on Aug 5, 2013, 5:57 PM
Hello George,
Someone with Osgood-Schlatters likes the feel of compression on their knee. I recommend a knee sleeve with a horseshoe buttress to apply pressure on the Patella Tendon. The Donjoy Performer is a great choice, with or without hinge. The hinge is used for medial and lateral stability. You can also try a Patella Tendon Strap. These products in conjunction with physical therapy will assist with returning to play.
Thanks for Contacting Donjoy.

My son has had severe patella dislocation 3x during competitive hockey along with mcl strain. We are looking for a low profile patella stabilizer along with rigid mcl support preferably with dual hinges.
Please advise.
Question by: JB on Aug 24, 2013, 11:02 AM
JB,
I would suggest the DonJoy Tru-Pull Advanced System with Hinges. It is our maximum patella support and gives a great pull on the patella to give that needed support. For even more support, we also have a Tru-Pull Advanced Attachment that can be fitted onto any of the DonJoy Rigid frame braces. This would not be as low profile of option, but I did just want to let you know it was another great support option.
