does this product 'ride' up your back or will it stay in place?
Question by: mikki on May 29, 2010, 11:52 AM
The DonJoy Back Brace should not ride up or move around while wearing it. The compression straps will help keep the brace in position.

Which style is best suited for a 110 lb 5' 3" skinny girl with
protruding, herniated disc?
Question by: Christina on Jul 28, 2013, 8:31 AM
Hello Christina,

Are you in the Acute Phase now? Did this injury just occur, if so you may need more rigid support now. If this is more of a chronic issue and you having been dealing with this injury for 6+ months you may just need a non-rigid brace. Here are your options.

Boa LSO Regular 10"
Neoprene /Elastic Sacro-lumbar W/compression straps

Do people find that the back brace causes compression of the stomach and have difficulty eating with it on? I have lost 20 pounds since wearing the back brace for a month.
Question by: Glenn on Oct 22, 2013, 11:25 AM
Glenn,
Our consumers have not been reporting any weight loss associated with the back brace. The brace is designed with the benefit of helping to alleviate back pains associate with disc problems, chronic pains and work-related lower back pain. Thank you for your questions.

Hi, I am looking at this brace for my mother.
She has no cushion left between her L4 and L5 vertebrae.
She is also a nurse, constantly lifting people from their beds.
I want her to have support and protection while lifting, but be able to remove or loosen the brace when not in need of support.
Question by: Mike from Phoenix on Dec 4, 2013, 6:12 PM
Mike
Thank you for contacting product support. This back brace would be perfect for your mother. It provides support from L1 to L5 and is adjustable

I had L5-S1 Anterior fusion 8 months which did not fuse. I need a rigid brace for that level. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Question by: BD on Jun 6, 2014, 10:06 PM
BD
Either the donJoy Back Brace or the Exos FORM 627 will give you rigid support in the back and there is anterior panel to prevent bengin forward too much. If you need more rigid protection the DonJoy LSO with Chairback has a rigid panel in the back of the brace. https://www.donjoystore.com/donjoy-back-brace

I have SI problems and low back problems after being hit by a car riding my bike. I looked at the SI brace and think this one would serve both problems. Is my thinking right? I had a total hip replacement, if that helps you answer the question. Thank you.
Question by: NO on Aug 9, 2014, 11:33 AM
The SI brace will help with SI joint problems but not lowerback. For both I would suggest the DonJoy Back Brace in the Low Profile version. It is 8" tall in the back but will support the lumbar spine and although it does not cross the SI joint it should help your positioning to decrease SI pain https://www.donjoystore.com/donjoy-back-brace

I purchased this for my husband. Can this brace be worn all day? Or how many hours per day can it be worn?
Question by: Tammy Farias on Aug 23, 2014, 7:39 AM
Tammy
This brace can be worn all day if needed. I would not reccommend wearing it to bed but it is supposed to keep the lower back in a good position while walking sitting etc.

I have L-5/6 herniation, like AJ, 200 LBS 5'10" and I have to work, can I wear this to work ? Can I claim it on my insurance ?
Question by: Gordon on Oct 17, 2014, 8:10 AM
Gordon
You can wear this brace under your shirt to work. We do not except insurance on the website. We can bill insurance if you have a prescrition from your physician and you purchase the brace through one of our sales reps.
