How does the knee bend in the braces? Does it have a knee mechanism?
Question by: Omozegele Agbonaye on May 9, 2011, 9:25 AM
The ACL everyday brace has hinges along the sides of the knee that allow the brace and knee to bend freely. While still supporting the ligament structures.

I have a neurological condition called upper neuron motor disease. It is a rare degenerative muscle condition that has greatly affected my mobility. Fortunately, I had a complete right knee replacement in 2003. My right knee is great. Unfortunately, my left knee wants to hyper-extend backwards with each step that I take. It is very demoralizing and causes my gate to be so awkward that I have to use two canes to step in my home. I am not familiar with your products, so I need some assistance with determining what product would best accommodate my mobility problem. I'm also on total social security disability, and any price discount would be greatly appreciated. I'm also on Medicare but I've never used that service and I was diagnosed in 2005. Blessed beyond imagination, I haven't had to go to a doctor for any illness since then - nine years later. Thank you for your help and assistance. Kindest regards, Joe Davis

The DonJoy ACL Everyday can be adjusted with stops to limit the hyperextension on your knee. The stops should be installed by either doctor or brace tech. Medicare does cover these braces but you would nee a prescription from your doctor and you would need to order the brace through a DJO Sales rep so they can submit it to Medicare. It would be less money to your using your insurance as we do not have any discounts on the BetterBraces website. To find your local DJO Sales rep follow this link: http://www.djoglobal.com/contact-us/sales-rep-locator
I'm looking for a brace for daily activities only. I've been diagnosed with right lateral meniscus slight tear with a stretched acl. My knee tends to buckle and hyperextend depending on the position I'm in. It causes me severe pain at times. My Dr. Has me in PT to strengthen my surrounding muscles. But the brace I have isn't helping. I was wondering if the DonJoy Everyday is best for me or if you can recommend another one. Thanks.

The Don Joy Everyday will provide you with support for the knee with daily activities and will help with the buckling and hyperextension.

Is this a good brace to play softball in, Iv last year I slightly tore my mcl. And I'm looking for a good knee brace so I don't do it again. Plus I need a knee brace that will help with my knee pain
Question by: Hannah on Sep 12, 2016, 7:04 PM
For your MCL injury, I would recommend the DONJOY PERFORMANCE BIONIC KNEE BRACE which will give you support and help prevent hyperextension while playing softball.
